Sunset Ceramics Book

By Herbert H. Sanders

From the book's Foreword:

This book describes the methods and materials used to make pottery by hand processes. It is intended as a manual of self-instruction for the beginner who will work at home, as supplementary material for both student and teacher in the classroom, and for use in the work of therapy and rehabilitation done in community centers and hospitals.

Although parts of this book will interest potters at any stage of achievement and experience, it is intended for the complete novice. First steps are planned and presented to accord with developing abilities. Later steps, although not often undertaken by the beginner working alone, will provide an understanding of all phases of the craft and permit him to make a better beginning in it.

Table of Contents:

* Ceramics as a Hobby
* Tools and Materials
* Preliminary Steps
* The Pinch Method
